Frameless Slide and Stack Doors for a Kent Home
Frameless slide and stack doors from FGC open the living space of this contemporary home, near Sevenoaks, onto a slate terrace with uninterrupted views across the Kent countryside.
- Frameless slide and stack doors to two elevations of the main living space
- Double glazed panels with no visible mullions when closed
- Dark powder-coated frames to complement the timber and brick elevations
- Panels stack neatly to one side to fully open the room to the garden
Project Overview
Set in the Darent Valley near Sevenoaks, this single-storey home combines vertical timber cladding, dark brickwork and a crisp flat roof. The owners wanted the main living space to feel part of the garden and the valley beyond, so FGC fitted frameless slide and stack doors to two elevations of the room.
Door Configuration
With the doors closed, the frameless glass gives a clear, full-height view with only a slim gasket where each panel meets the next. On a warm day the panels slide along the track and stack neatly at one end of the opening, turning the kitchen and living area into a covered extension of the terrace.
Design & Finish
The dark powder-coated frames sit quietly against the timber slats and dark brick, while the low threshold lets the interior floor run almost seamlessly onto the slate terrace. Outside, a sheltered seating area beneath the roof overhang makes the most of the sun and the view.
Performance
Our patented double glazed, insulated glass units, toughened safety glass and insulated aluminium frames keep the room comfortable through the year, so the glazing works as well in January as it does in July.
